  King of the Olympian gods; he watches the mouse-frog war from heaven, refers Athena and Ares to it, and finally sends the crabs to end it. Invoked throughout by the patronymics 'Cronion' and 'son of Cronus.'

• The Epigrams of Homer §1 Zeus

  King of the Olympian gods; in this collection he is repeatedly invoked as Zeus Xenios, guardian of the sacred bond between host and guest that runs through Epigrams I, II, VI, VIII, and IX.
