Goddess of the dawn. She rises to open the day in Hymn 4; Hymn 5 tells how she carried off the mortal Tithonus for love and won him immortality but forgot to ask for eternal youth, so he withers forever in her halls; Hymn 31 makes her sister of Helios and Selene.
