god

Dionysus

also: Διώνυσος, Εἰραφιώτης, Insewn One, Bacchus

God of wine, ecstasy, and the vine, hymned three times in this collection (1, 7, 26). His epithet 'Insewn One' (Eiraphiotes) recalls the myth that Zeus sewed the unborn god into his own thigh after Semele's death.
